Throughout her 4-month "clear/cleanse/build" protocol, which enabled her body to heal itself from cancer, I gave Buttons many different Bach Flower Remedies. They work by clearing trauma from the energetic/emotional body. They produced clear, dramatic improvements in her behavior and well-being.
When we lived in more urban areas, I always gave her the Bach Flower Remedy, Rescue Remedy to avoid fireworks fear/trauma. Beginning a few days before the 4th, I'd put about 15 drops daily added to her water bowl. Starting the morning of the 4th, I'd put a water-diluted dropperfull directly into her mouth every few hours.
I always used the "human" liquid version - the one in alcohol, not glycerin. (NEVER use the pastilles as they contain xylitol- great for humans/deadly for pets.)
Once I started doing this, instead of being skittish, whining, or hiding under the bed, she was always "chill" every 4th of July, which of course made it better for all of us who loved her.

This is very interesting! I'll have to try to remember this next year as my older dog gets very scared during fireworks. Thanks for sharing!
Rescue Remedy is awesome! I use this for Sydney mostly for car trips (she'd whine without it for the whole car trip otherwise) but also for the 4th of July! It does work and keeps her calm. During car rides, we have to check to make sure that she is still there since she's so quiet, lol.
wow i didnt even know they made products like this. thanks for the post. i will be trying it.
